- URLMerchant offers an interest free 'Lease To Buy' purchase program to most qualified buyers.
This program allows Buyers
to more affordably acquire a Domain Name over a period of time and to make a higher monetary offer to a Seller.
- Domain Names that are leased will remain parked or hosted (Buyers choice) on URLMerchant servers for
the mutual protection of all parties until the conclusion of the lease. Once the lease is up, Buyer
may elect to continue
parking or web site hosting services with URLMerchant or should provide DNS information for a new web host provider.
Failure to provide new host information will result in a month to month continuation of web hosting
or parking services with Buyer being invoiced where appropriate. Fees for web hosting or parking
are not included in any Lease To Buy agreement and must be selected and paid for separately.
- Buyer and Seller security is extremely important to URLMerchant. For this reason,
all monetary transactions will be handled exclusively by URLMerchant. Without exception, URLMerchant will
serve as the intermediary between Buyer and Seller.
- Control of a Seller's Domain Name must be transferred to URLMerchant prior to the lease agreement
in order for the Seller to qualify for payment under
the Lease To Buy program. No exceptions are ever made to this policy. URLMerchant must have
control of a Domain Name in order to ensure the safety of Buyer funds and the integrity of the transaction.
URLMerchant will send an email to the appropriate registration authority to accomplish this transfer where
possible (there may be associated paperwork that requires completion). The Seller must
acknowledge and agree to the changes to the Domain Name record to be eligible to sell their Domain Name using the
Lease To Buy program. No changes will be made to the Organization or Address information of the Domain Name
record until the final payment of the Lease To Buy has been received and verified. Once the Seller agrees to
accept a bid offer and consents to participation in the Lease To Buy program that decision is irrevocable.
The Seller may not 'change their mind'
once the Lease To Buy has begun, as the Buyer will likely be put into a situation of difficulty (e.g. cost of
site promotion, business formation around a Domain Name, etc.) Backing out of a Lease To Buy agreement will
result in forfeiture of the Domain Name in question by the defaulting party.
- Control/ownership of a Seller's Domain Name will NOT be transferred to the Buyer until final payment of the
Lease To Buy has been received and verified. The Buyer will be entitled to use the Domain Name during the
Lease To Buy period provided all scheduled lease payments are current. Fees for web hosting or parking
are not included in any Lease To Buy agreement and must be selected and paid for separately.
The Lease To Buy program payment schedule must be adhered to strictly.
In the interest of all parties involved, lease payment deliquency can not be tolerated.
All monthly Lease To Buy payments are due on the 1st business day of the respective month.
(e.g. payment for the month of September is due September 1st)
If any monthly payment is not received by the due date,
the Buyers' account will be deemed to be 'overdue'. If a monthly payment is received after the 15th
calendar day of the month, a mandatory $250 late fee (due immediately)
will be assessed on the Buyers' account and will be the property of URLMerchant.
If the overdue account is not made current within the same calendar month in which that month's payment is due,
the Lease To Buy program privleges will be terminated, the entire balance will be immediately
due and the Buyers' account will be deemed 'in default'.
Buyer access to the Domain Name will also be immediately terminated at the time of default
until the balance due is received. In the event of a Lease To Buy program termination for
non-payment of the monthly lease amount, the Buyer must pay the entire remaining Lease To Buy balance within
15 calendar days of lease termination. Failure to do so
will result in forfeiture of the Domain Name, all funds paid under the Lease To Buy program and any
pre-paid web hosting or parking fees. The short and easy way to read the paragraph above is:
If you agree to purchase the Domain Name under the Lease To Buy program, you should make sure
your monthly payments are received in a timely fashion.
- To qualify for the Lease To Buy program, the following must apply:
Both Buyer and Seller must adhere to all stipulations above and below this paragraph
for the entire duration of the lease. Additionally,
- Buyers: Domain Name SALE PRICE must exceed $10,000 to be eligible.
A down payment must be made by the Buyer at the start of the lease of at least 33% of the agreed upon
purchase price. The lease payment schedule will commence on the first business day of the following
calendar month. (e.g. if you buy the Domain Name on May 15th, then your first lease payment
is due June 1st) The term of the lease offered is at the approval of the Seller. Typical lease
lengths are three (3) to six (6) months. Twelve (12) months are only offered for very high dollar
Domain Name purchases and again are at the approval of the Seller.
- Sellers: To accept an offer from a Buyer under the Lease To Buy program,
you must agree to change (and assist where necessary) all Domain Name record information required to
transfer complete control of the Domain Name to URLMerchant and
to park said Domain Name on URLMerchant's servers. You should understand that entering into a
Lease To Buy agreement legally binds you to relinquish ownership of the Domain Name at the
agreed upon price. No price changes will be made to the arrangement once it has been accepted by
all parties. If you receive a higher offer from another party once the Lease To Buy arrangement
has been entered into, you do not have the authority or legal right to accept that offer.
At that point, the Domain Name is under contract to the Buyer. The only time that
control of a Domain Name will ever be returned to a Seller is when a Buyer defaults on the Lease
To Buy program and does not pay their entire balance due within an additional 15 calendar days of default.
- Funds are accepted from Buyers via wire transfer (domestic and international both).
There is a $50 (US) fee for wire transfer fund delivery to URLMerchant. Please include this amount
with each wire transfer. Funds are also
accepted from Buyers via cashiers check, money order, personal check and company check.

- All funds for Lease To Buy Domain Names must be delivered to URLMerchant directly. Checks and
money orders are also to be made out to URLMerchant and are to be furnished in United States currency.

and integrity. All clients (Sellers and Buyers alike) are required to do the same.
