At URLMerchant, we only list domain names that end in .COM, .NET or .ORG.
With few exceptions, there is very little demand or opportunity for names outside the '.COM' top level domain.  The vast majority, almost 95%, of all domain names we sell are '.COM' names.  Additionally, over 99.87% of all names we sell have a non-adult theme or use.  We make great efforts to not obscure the marketable names with 'fluff and filler' names.  (e.g. On another broker site a recent search of just 20 well known trademarks returned over 23,000 names.  A second search of only 16 vulgar words revealed over 60,000 names on the same site!  Try swimming through that to find the next eToys.com).  If our clients have to wade through volumes of garbage in order for us to be the biggest, then we'd rather let someone else have that title.

At URLMerchant, we routinely remove domain names from our database.
It would be easy to let our database "bloat up" with useless names too.  What's harder still is to constantly scrutinize our database to remove names that are no longer for sale, names that have been deleted by the registrar and are freely available, names that obviously infringe upon others trademarks and phony name submissions.  Additionally, if a seller does not respond in a timely manner to a buyer's bid or our inquiry we remove all of their names from our database.

Buyers that come to URLMerchant know that they don't have to wade through senseless volumes of unusable names.  Our buyers also know that almost every name on our site is truly for sale.  Names that are not for sale are removed.  We do not leave unregistered and freely available names on our site in an effort to get buyers to offer to pay more than just the registration fee.  We don't scour other brokers sites or the web looking to list names for sale without the owner's authorization either.  Every name listed for sale on URLMerchant was done so at the owners request (or their representative) so potential buyers are assured they are dealing with a serious seller.
